I want to thank Kathy for the EXCELLENT Study Guide. The book is well written, every concept is clearly explained using a real life example, and the book states what you specifically need to know for the exam. The way it's written, you feel that you're in a classroom and someone is actually teaching you the difficult concepts, but not in a dry, formal manner. The questions at the end of the chapters are also REALLY good, and I am sure they will help candidates pass the test. Watch out for this Wickedly Smart book.

I studied this book before taking the SCJP 310-055 (Java 5.0) exam and passed quite easily. The process I used was:
1. Study the whole book, page by page, taking the tests at the end of each chapter. While studying, I had my Java IDE open to try things out. I ended up writing lots of small classes.
2. After I finished the book, I went through all the chapter reviews (these are usually 4-5 pages per chapter). Then I took all the chapter tests again, in one sitting.
3. I took the Master Exam on the CD a couple times, the day before the exam.
Basically, if you can get comfortable answering the questions on this book, you should be able to do well on the exam.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the CD mentions that another master exam is available for download from their web site, which I was unable to do.

Excellent condition and price. Standard international shipping could be a bit faster, anyway most of times books arrived before expected.

Absolutely new.......
Great condition...CD included in a sealed pack.Although may be because of International Shipping it took 7days more than the estimated delivery date to reach to me(instead of slotting it in priority mail).However Amazon's customer service is at its best as usual......Thanks!!!

I am SCJP 1.4 and SCJP 1.5. Used the same book each time. The author has explained the concept so nicely that even a non-java developer will understand them.
Must have if want to clear SCJP
