I have found that I enjoy any book by Focal Press, so I went and ordered this book. I absolutely love this book. The tips and exercises that they give you has helped me excelled in my animations. I was even able to incorperate some of the techniques in some of my interface designs. Hopefully this author will come out with a second how to cheat in Flash book.

I'm enjoying the book so far. I wish it had more action script examples and more flash website tricks. It seems mostly focused on animation.

I already have a background in Flash, but lately I've been interested in doing cartoon animation. This book is perfect for learning or relearning some ways to set up and "rig" a 2D Flash character.

I read the review by Jackie Watson, and have to agree. I have a different point of view, however, being that I am brand-new to learning Flash.
I got this book to help me get going with Flash. I am going to keep this book for as long as it takes me to absorb every bit of advice and training it has in its pages!
It is written clearly, step-by-step, and (as Jackie Watson said) like you are looking over the shoulder of a Flash pro.
I showed it to my teacher, and she said "wow, I forgot about some of these techniques" and promptly incorporated some into her lesson for the day.
Need I say more? That right there is a HUGE compliment to the author!
Think of this book as a companion - not necessarily a tech manual, yet not quite a workbook either.
What a wonderful piece of work! I'll be keeping an eye out for more of his books!
