Editorial Review:
Product Description: Journey through events that have deeply affected author Joseph E. LeBlanc Jr. with this stunning collection of prose and poetry. In Defining Moments: Times and Happenings that Shape a Life, LeBlanc shares reflections and insights into the relationships we have with our spouses, children, parents, and other family members, and he relates lessons learned from living with each one. He also dares to explore what we fear mostloss, loneliness, and death. With surprising frankness, LeBlanc confronts these thoughts and the angst into which they plunge us. He then examines the defenses we use to survive their unrelenting assault. LeBlanc revels in past joys and holds out a promise of hope for times of despair. With this collection, youll be inspired to reach out to others and to offer encouragement through difficult times.

I am a psychotherapist who specializes in grief. Having read Joe LeBlanc's first book, Oh Joe! A Father's Struggle to Survive the Loss of his Son, and found it to be a painfully honest and heartfelt examination of Joe's grief following the death of his son, I looked forward to reading his latest memoir. Defining Moments captures life as we live it; Joe LeBlanc shares moments in his life through both prose and poetry evoking the essence of relationships and his responses. I personally identified with many of these moments because they speak to the human condition. Anyone reading Defining Moments will think about their own relationships and their own losses and responses. This book is beautifully written and can be savoured little by little or read through in one sitting.
