This is probably one of the best Miles Davis compilations I've ever heard. It's nice and mellow but not boring. The songs on the albums date from 1956-1967;a period when Miles was a major influence on his horn and in jazz. While probably not an essential album to have, it's a good set of tunes that every type of jazz listener can get into.

Blue Miles compiles eight low key tunes from 8 different Miles ablums, including one track (Blue & Green) from "Kind of Blue". The eight tracks brought together here create a "Kind Of Blue" mood. If you like the mood of "Kind of Blue" I would suggest you purchase "Blue Miles"

This is a collection of Miles ballads from 1956-1967. Very mellow, melancholy and a tad boring.

One the most inovative uses of A horn I have ever heard. Miles is the only one I have heard do this. by reducing the size of his horn, to make a sound resemblance of the flutes in the backround was great. I agree with miles when he said there is nothing on a horn that Louis hasn't played. great track!

Now we can see why he had to pursue that road. He was a man with such a creative intent and such Personal kinship with his Trumpet, My Miles Davis Obsession began with this C.D. I have always been curious about Miles in the pass, i've heard selective songs from 'Kind of Blue' and 'Amandla' but i've never purchased any of his music because my interest was lacking, But as soon as i did! I sought another realm of music, Listening to This Album you can see how much of an influence Miles had on current Rhythm and blues and jazz Music, This Prepared me for my new found career and a Jazz Entertainer, It began a Blunt obsession with a man so underrated , My favorites on the C.D. are all of them, I can listening to every single one without skipping it, If your new to jazz this is a great one ...
