I just bought Norton 360 Premier 2.0 and it is a total piece of junk. It has been two days that I am trying to install it on a Windows XP sp2 system to no avail. It hangs at some point on the installation and nothing happens for hours. I even contacted their support via their chat line with some gentleman in India -- which took a while to get to being the 30th person in the queue -- just to install a freaking software. He "took over" my system via a remote session and who knows what he was doing (I could see the mouse moving and what not) and after spending HOURS and a couple of remote reboots I lost him and the remote session was not reestablished again. So I was back where I was with a remote controlled software somewhere installed on my computer (good luck finding that one).
I tried to uninstall the aborted software, again, to no avail. Ended up having to download special software to remove Norton products. Here is my question: is it worth the hassle and your time ... Read More

Over the years I have used many Anti-Virus / Anti-Spyware / Defrag programs. I have gone from McAfee to AVG to many others. When Norton first came out, it was by all purposes a "memory hog". On top of that it would spam your computer with countless messages of "invasions" or "attacks". Many of which would be irrelevant.
Now fast forward to 2008. Norton has now put all it's products into one nice handy package. While to some it might be Norton Products Lite, I feel that the program as a whole is sufficient enough for the needs of the average computer user. It comes with a spam filter, anti-virus, defrag, temporary file clean-up and backup program. To the average "non-computer literate" consumer, the fact that this is all together and is easy to manage is a blessing. It is also very quiet. What I mean by this is, you do not get all the annoying messages I spoke of earlier. Norton simply keeps out all of the invasions, and runs all it's processes in the background. The only indication ... Read More

We had not used Norton products in a couple of years. When I saw that this package allowed up to three computers it didn't take much to convince me to try Norton again.
So far no problems.
The only thing I dislike, which is more of a pain than a problem, is when the antivirus updates you have to reboot. I understand why this is done, it is just a pain to do it.

WARNING to anyone thinking about buying this product! Please understand that you will not be buying this product only RENTING it. If you do not renew every year the product stops working....COMPLETELY! I'm not just talking about updates, etc. It actually tells you that it has stopped working and it won't work unless you renew. I have just wasted more than 2 hours with Norton's online tech support. This is the case with ALL Norton products and I am quoting the tech.

I am ticked off by this pain in my rumpus program that's supposed to make things more seamless! Please don't make me endure one more call to India! The support guys are hopelessly polite, but my problems are NOT resolved! All the prompts that my trial norton was going to expire sold me on paying for this version, but it's robbed my husband of his user profile and completed wiped out his emails and stored files; it's corrupted my Outlook as well numerous times, and I have had this already reinstalled by the Norton support tech himself taking over my computer. There is NO EXCUSE and these bugs should be worked out. Ironic is that HP made this their preferred security software and it's making computing hell for me.
Dud!
