Still driving people mad around seven years--yes, seven!--after his landmark Pop Idol win (it's almost enough to make you dewy-eyed for the early days of the Simon Cowell TV talent franchise), mainly by refusing to be typecast as a one, or two, or three (etc.) hit wonder and continuing to be so alarmingly consistent, Will Young returns with Let It Go, his fourth--yes, fourth!--album. Of course he's never quite so bold as to actually be alarming; it's easy listening, wholesome, modern soul-lite pop all the way from the former politics graduate, kind of like George Michael without the underlying tension, clawing requirement to prove himself or mind-boggling tabloid scandals. Any of that would just serve to muddy Will's waters unnecessarily, there's purity here like a ripple on the surface of a crystal lake that rebounds languidly to and fro across these 13 tracks, one that is reflected in and a necessary backdrop for his suave, mildly textured and famously powerful voice. There is the sense that he still might not be using it to its full potential as he sounds so comfortable throughout. --James Berry

I've always been a fan and seeing Will live in November was a highlight. He is fabulous on stage and he interprets the songs on the album brilliantly. I can listen to the tracks and bring back memories of the night.
The album rates as his best so far. The tracks are so varied and carefully chosen to follow each other. They fit every mood/emotion anyone can feel.

I am pleasantly surprised about this album. When I heard this album was coming out I didn't think it was going to be anything other than a total pile of rubbish, I had heard Will young's songs before and was not a fan. However I was deeply surprised to have not actually had to hear any of the songs off this album yet, thankyou God.

Just Love Will to bits.. he can do no wrong - Everytime he brings out another album it just gets better and better..

I'm no particular fan of Will Young and downloaded this for my Mrs but I must say it did pull me in. "Grace" is an absolutely superb track and makes the album. I can see why the others have given him 5* but it's all a little bit samey to me which is why I gave it a 4.

this is fab this guy has a voice he is unique and distinctive which i love just like karen carpenter,freddie mercury,elvis presley,amy winehouse,dinah washington etc this has a good sound to it jazzy/funk/pop its just cool and the song writeing is fab i reviewed this when it came out but they have deleted the page i highly recommend this cd and i have all of his cds and followed him right from the beginning and i personally think this is the best so far musically and vocal wise he gets better and better like a fine wine buy it future classic!!
