I'm fed up with a couple of things about this game. Why is it IMPOSSIBLE to save player 2's control preferences in system set up for pro evo 2009 on PS3? It NEVER saves, yet player 1's does.
Konami have done a million updates, (all attempts to correct the laggy online play, which have never worked) and not once addressed this schoolboy error.
And talk of laziness, the master league, is POINTLESS because of KONAMI. We all know Pro Evo never can afford the licences for the team names and players. But that hasn't mattered too much in the past, because before, with Master League, you could create 7 Division 1 clubs and your own new team, to start in the Master League division 1.
Then your master league game, whether in Div 2 or 1, would consist of entirely English teams.
This is now not possible, because although you can alter the names of two 'league a' teams, and make lots of 'league b' teams in the edit mode, you can only use the league ... Read More

Biggest load of rubbish I have ever played. If you like basic arcade style "soccer" then you will like it. If you like real football and want to play with real team names and real players FIFA09 is your game not this infant piece of toss.

I bought this with the hopes of a new PES which has recognised its previous falts....have they? Not at all.
The first thing i did was created myself and went into 'become a legend' mode, which i have to admit kept me hooked for 10 seasons in which i've become very successful, but thats not the point. The AI is a mess, most of the time you'll find yourself swearing at the tv calling your team mates every name under the sun! as they:
1) hardly ever pass to you
2) always go for glory themselves
3) love to keep the ball in defense with 5mins to go on the clock when you're losing by a goal or so (without fail)
Another thing which annoyed me about the become a legend mode was the fact that i could not make my player a footballing god straight away.I totally respect the fact that konami would like you to gradually become a good player as opposed to being uber talented from the get go, but to put it simply they ask too much. I mean if i want to be a 17yr ... Read More

Firstly, on the debate of PES versus Fifa, this year I think whichever game you purchase, you're going to enjoy it. Fifa has certainly come on leaps and bounds and both games have their pros and cons.
Concerning PES 2009, the major factor worrying gamers from 2008 was the online gaming, and sadly there are still problems with PES2009, despite the promises made by Konami that online was top priority. In my experience, the player who is the home team tends to enjoy a lag free game, whereas the player who is the away side suffers from teleporting players and lag, making games frustrating at times. I have a good connection that is always at least yellow, and often I have difficulty away from home. Defending also seems harder online, and as defending is hard enough as it is, this is not a welcome development. However, the Legends mode, where you can take your ingame player from Become A Legend (which I'll touch on later) online to play with up to three other users against a CPU team, ... Read More

Last year I had a PS2 and the reviews for Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 said it was the same as PES 6. So very happy with PES 6 - and for the first time in over 10 years - I didn't buy a Pro Evolution game. It turned out to be a stroke of luck, because by the time I had bought a PS3 I was to learn that EVERYBODY on earth hates PES now (even the people still playing, in hope it'll get better)!
So when the demo for Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 came out I was worried it might be broken...but it wasn't! Then I worried that the demo was a trick...but it wasn't! It was everything I remember, but better...and harder!
After two weeks of exclusively changing the kits (of which there are only 18 teams without kits) with the superb editing mode, which I tried to get TOO perfect and in the end gave up...after all I did buy it to play football :D The editing is very simple and yet you can get really good results. It doesn't take too long to do all the kits...unless you're like me ;)
