Super-slim and stylishly appointed. | This U.S. version of the unlocked LG Shine can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides tri-band connectivity (850 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider.
Phone Features
The LG Shine ME770 is entirely about fashion, convenience, and usability. The ultra-thin, stylish slider design always keeps the unobtrusive internal antenna safely tucked away--always protected from snags or breaking, while the protective and alluring properties of stainless steel add to the phone's durability and style. The 256K-color, 176 x 220 display is hidden when inactive, a key feature to save battery life, or when keeping a low profile is a must. The phone has an internal 65 MB memory that can store up to 1000 contact entries, and you can also view the 50 most recent dialed/received/missed calls.
The ME770 has a digital audio player that's compatible with MP3 and AAC music files. The integrated Bluetooth technology (version 1.2) allows handsfree communication with a compatible headset as well as the ability to exchange files with another Bluetooth compatible device. And, with the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you can stream your music to a pair of compatible Bluetooth stereo headphones.
The phone's support for multimedia messaging means that text, photos, video, and audio can be sent with ease. When used in combination with the Shine's built-in camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. The built in MMS editor allows the user to create convenient messaging templates for fast MMS messages, as well as the usual ability to create SMS messaging templates. And to make messaging even easier on the Shine, the phone comes stock with built-in T9 text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets--a definite plus for mobile email and text messaging users.
When you need to check your email, or browse the Web for the nearest movie theatre and showtimes, use the phone's advanced WAP 2.0 browser. Find what you need fast over the supported GPRS transfer protocol. And with the phone's built-in document viewer you can view and transport .ppt, .doc, .pdf, .xls, and .txt files. A number of handy software tools are bundled with the Shine including a calendar, an alarm clock, a calculator, a stopwatch timer, a digital note pad, and a vibrating alert alarm.
The MicroSD memory card slot will ensure that you will always have space for more. Connect the ME770 to a PC using the supplied USB cable and it will become a mass storage device. Drag and drop files such as music, photos, videos and more straight to the phone and you can carry them with you wherever you go. No software is required for the PC--simply plug and play. this phone is just alright for me. unfortunately my service provider, at&t will not allow me to use the full functions of the phone. the phone is small, thin, and light. very good on pocket space. what i did not like was the fact that the ring and voice volume was extrmely low. if you work or play in loud areas you will not hear this phone. i also did not like the choice of ring tones which come with the phone. no plain rings just techno-ish beats. not for me.

I bought this phone as a B-Day present for my wife and am in the process of setting it up for her. As stated by "mnerd'" in his review this is indeed not the US version and is from the Spanish Carrier Movistar. I like the look and feel of the phone so far and I think my wife will too. Only time will tell if works out and if I can get the mobile browser or emocion as it's called on this handset to work. If I don't I am not too worried as my wife does not have a data contract. I can confirm though that it does work with the ATT/Cingular network for calls.

Phone is nice in appearance but it stopped working two weeks after i started using it. Refund procedures is in process.
I addition, no USB cable was included in the package as advertised.
