Multiplayer Action with Xbox LIVE!
Gears of War 2 features a multiplayer mode that allows up to 10 simultaneous players for outstanding multiplayer fun. Taking full advantage of the Xbox LIVE service, which boasts 10 million gamers, Gears of War 2 features both competitive and cooperative multiplayer gameplay. Setting up games is simple with LIVE, and you have the ability to drop in and out of co-operative campaigns at any time.
Everything you loved about multiplayer in the original is back, including the classic death matches, but with this sequel there is an added emphasis on teamwork. New multiplayer game modes will require better coordination in order to win. The game also features voice support, so you can communicate with other players around the world -- whether you're on the same team or trash talking!
Gears of War 2 won several awards at E3 2008, where it was first presented, including Overall Best Shooting Game and Overall Best Graphics Technology of E3 2008 from IGN, as well as Best Action Game of E3 2008 from the Game Critics Awards.

The campaign is still short, but the plot is better than the 1st version. Also, I think the graphics were a bit better in Gears 1 overall. The online play of Gears 1 is way funner. In Gears 2, the smoke grenade actually does something - knocks you off your feet - so invariably, every online game becomes a grenade throwing contest which sucks. Some new game types are fun (Horde), but they also changed around the way you hook up online now, so it takes longer. And you can't control the rounds anymore, so every game is mandatory 3 rounds (you can't set up a good 19 rounder anymore). Overall, I don't like the changes they made to this game - almost all are for the worse, except for the campaign which is slightly better. Still one of the best 360 options out there though, and enjoyable.

Gears Of War 2 - Bilingual
Well this upcoming, and most anticipated game of the year, arriving november 7th lived up to its expectations.
lets start with gameplay.
pros (the good stuff)
- its enhanced graphics from the studio couldnt get better, their has been so many perks added to the detail in this game its almost like you are there, blowing off heads, and chainsawing bodies couldnt get better!
-story line is absolutely, fantstically, intrepedably good, it was well written goes into sequence of the first one, and with some amazing things aded to it, so if you thought that gears of war had a good plot to the locost attack, the second plot is guarenteed 100% more "intense" you could say.
-Some games only allow you to have an ofline expeirience, this has gone past that, in this sequal and the first game they had excelent interactions online with other players, and it couldnt get any better than this, new maps, new guns, new perks, all of ... Read More

I was a big fan of the first one, and really looking forward to this one, but I was really let down. Unlike other sequels this season that greatly build on the first game, like Resistance, this game is more of the same with slightly different locales. There are chainsaw duals and slightly different weapons this time, but the plot, and lenght of the campaign are still terrible (about 6 hours).
Multiplayer is still handicapped in favor of the host via server lag that all other players experience. There are no dedicated servers, and at 1 or 2 weeks after launch, the game has gotten quite old.
I would wait for the greatest hits version that is sure to come, or the improved windows one like they did with the first one. Also, the game has terrible graphical glitches everywhere, and I keep getting this nagging feeling that the first one had better graphics, or at least, no noticeable glitches. I would not buy this again full price.

The presentation of this game, from the graphics, to the A.I. of Team mates (or enemies) is excellent. This is one of the most beautiful and fun games I have played in a long time.
PROS: Awesome graphics (head shots are the best!), 5 vs 5 team multiplayer (which you can use BOTS if you want the maximum number of players), excellent campaign mode which 2 players can play. The replayability of this game with all the options is huge.
CONS: Minor glitches with weapons, and game in general (mostly in multiplayer mode, but no freezes or lock-ups)
Bottom line: If there is only one game to get this X-mas Gears 2 is an excellent candidate.
P.S: Do not bother with "K. G. Lakes (Wiarton, Ontario)"' review. Obviously he has not played this game.

This game sucks! the graphics are the worst, the story sucks and the main
guy in the game, it a diffrent actor, it saids in the credits!
