Recorded live on June 20, 2008 in Houston, Texas with more than 12,000 worshippers in attendance. Artist, composer, author and worship leader Michael W. Smith recorded his third highly-anticipated worship album A New Hallelujah featuring Israel Houghton, the world renowned African Children's Choir, an incredible young worship leader names Coalo Zamorano and a 250 voice choir elevated the songs to amazing moments of praise and worship.

Up front, I am a Smitty fan. After I hear each new CD, I think, "Wow, this is great, this is the best, it can't get any better." But every CD is just as rich in a new way. You come away feeling, "Wow, this is the best yet. No way Smitty can out due this one." For now, his "A New Hallelujah" is the best. Smitty has a great way of tapping into his heart and coming out with words of praise and thanks to God and encouragement of and to believers. Smitty's songs are our songs to God. His music is a gift from God and then back to God!

Na Michael W. Smith - Worship (2001) en Michael W. Smith - Worship Again (2002) was de angst dat Smitty zich geheel op aanbiddingsmuziek zou gaan richten, meebewegend op de golf van populaire muziek. Zeker het live met collega artiesten opgenomen Worship album heeft voor een enorme stimulans van worship CD's gezorgd. Gelukkig zijn inmiddels naast verzamelaars van deze veteraan ook reguliere albums als Healing Rain (2004), STAND (2006) en een 2e kerstalbum, It's a Wonderful Christmas (2004, als opvolger van Christmas uit 1998) uitgekomen. En 'dus' is een nieuw worshipalbum in 2008 wel verklaarbaar. Live opgenomen op 20 juni 2008 in de megakerk Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, werkt Michael W. Smith vooral samen. Na een typisch concert opwarmer, Prepare Ye The Way spat de titeltrack, waarin het African's Children Choir meeswingt en zingt. After seeing Michael W Smith in person, I wanted to buy his newest CD which he mentioned at his concert in Puyallup, WA. It is an excellent CD which I would highly recommend.

What? What? huh, it's over?
Well that was a nice 69 minute and 7 secoond nap.
From the opening to the closing, this is a snore fest.
AVOID it............
I gave it 2 stars because no one else had given it 2 yet, it should be a one............

I am appreciating the new worship recording done by MW Smith. The Uganda African Children's Choir adds to the celebration as does having this be a live recording. I put this on a par with his first "Worship" recording done ten years ago or so. It is a must for any Smith fan or a great introduction for those not familiar with him yet.
