Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Good Technical Writing Makes HTML easy for everyone to grasp!
That's what I've always liked about the "Head First" series: Great Technical writing! Instead of some smug programmer writing details that they'd assume the reader to know, this book's staff covers ALL the essentials and ends the book with a little bit of JavaScript. In my opinion, that's meant to be a hint that after establishing a foundation in HTML, you ought to move on to JavaScript, which isn't a bad idea at all. And for those of you who purchase this book and agree, there's a great JavaScript book by David Flanagan that would be a perfect companion. Overall, very instructive and educational, with a cliffhanger that points you in the next logical direction in web-development.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best way for novices to learn html and CSS
I had a web designer create a relatively simple web page for my photography business. As I choose not to pay a monthly fee for her to continually update the site with new text and photographs, I needed to learn HTML and CSS to manage the website. I purchased Dreamweaver CS4, but after reading the reviews for its Classroom In A Book, I realized I needed some basic information before engaging in that learning process. Many other reviewers from this site, referenced this book (as well as Dreamweaver for Dummies) as excellent resources to learn the HTML basic information. I go through one chapter a day and am amazed at how easy it is to learn, as the authors use many different learning styles to get the message across. I can't rate this text highly enough. One suggestion, though. If you purchase this book, read the entire "Introduction" section. I generally do not, but chose to read it in the text. It describes, in detail, how the student will learn and reinforces the need to do every activity presented in each chapter to fully absorb the information. That has helped me a lot.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Scattered
This is a book of CSS for those who can't concentrate on just one thing at a time. It's scattered, strangely organized, and filled to brimming with little notes, pictures, graphics, and comics. I hated the layout of this book and can only imagine it's for people who have to multitask, even when they're reading a book.

This was not a book I could learn from.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best HTML book around
If you really apply what you learn in this book, it will teach you everything you need to know about the subject matter. I've read several books about HTML, CSS, etc. and I've never found one that crams so much teaching into so little words. It's wonderful! I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in starting any type of computer field on their own.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Binding falling apart
Love the book. But the binding is falling apart. Otherwise it would be a 5 star review. Not sure if we can get another copy from Amazon and send this one back.
